Publication Ethics

Journal Publication Ethics Statement

The publication of articles in the journal Journal of Current Public Health Issues (JCPHI) reflects the quality of scientific work conducted by authors and supporting institutions. Ethical standards are essential to maintain the integrity of scientific publications, prevent misconduct, and ensure trust in academic communication. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—must adhere to ethical principles and professional standards.

This publication ethics statement is adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Editorial decisions are based on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope.

Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher when appropriate.

Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and should not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for personal research without written consent from the author.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively and express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not share or discuss them with others except as authorized by the editor.

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and inform editors about any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works.

Reviewers should decline review assignments when they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions connected to the manuscript.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must present accurate and original research work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Authors should ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original. If authors use the work or words of others, appropriate citation and acknowledgment must be provided.

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication is considered unethical publishing behavior.

All authors listed in the manuscript should have made significant contributions to the research. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to JCPHI will undergo plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, will be rejected immediately.

The journal strongly discourages:

  • Copying text without proper citation
  • Using ideas or data without acknowledgment
  • Duplicate publication
  • Fabrication or falsification of research data

Research Integrity

Research involving human participants, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with ethical research standards and institutional regulations. Authors should provide ethical clearance information when required.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the journal the right of first publication. Published articles may be distributed under the applicable open-access license adopted by the journal.

Publication Decisions

The editor has full authority to accept, reject, or request revisions for manuscripts based on editorial evaluation and peer-review results. Decisions are made solely based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal scope.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions by contacting the editorial office officially through the journal communication system or email provided on the journal website.

Ethical Oversight

The journal is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in publication and will take appropriate actions against publication malpractice, including retraction, correction, or withdrawal of articles when necessary.
